The best Dyson Airwrap dupes of 2026, and what they can't do

Two Amazon tools use the same wrap-around airflow idea. The rest are hot-air brushes. Here is which is which, and what each one leaves out.

How we chose: This is a research roundup. We compared formulas, finishes, shade ranges and what buyers report after weeks of use. It isn't a hands-on test, and we'll say so in the post when we've tried something ourselves.

If you buy through our links we may earn a commission. It never decides what we recommend. How we make money

The best Dyson Airwrap dupe depends on why you wanted an Airwrap. If it was the curls that wrap themselves around a barrel, only a couple of Amazon tools do anything similar. If it was a smooth, bouncy blowout, a hot-air brush gets you most of the way for far less.

"Dupe" here means similar in purpose. None of these is made by Dyson or copies its inner workings, and the gap between the two groups below matters more than the gap in price.

FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System

How it works
Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long: Fast air pulled along a barrel wraps hair around it, with no clamp to open and close.
FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System: Auto-wrap curlers that use the same Coanda airflow idea, plus a dryer mode and brushes.
Results
Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long: Soft, bouncy curls and smooth blowouts. The original, and reviewers still treat it as the one to beat.
FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System: Reviewers who compare the two call the curls close. Most still describe the Dyson as the more refined tool.
In the box
Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long: Several set sizes, so check what is in the box before you buy.
FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System: Attachment counts differ between listings and bundles, so check the model number.
Verdict
Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long: Worth it if you will style your hair most days.
FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System: The closest on Amazon for wrap-around curls.

If you want the auto-wrap curl, the Shark is the one to try first. Spend the difference on a good heat protectant.

How we picked

This is a research roundup. We haven't used these tools. We compared what each one is built to do, what comes in the box, and what buyers and reviewers say after a few weeks: whether the curls hold, how long drying takes, and how hot the barrel gets.

The first thing we sorted for was how each tool moves hair. The Airwrap uses the Coanda effect, where fast air clings to a curved surface and pulls hair toward it. Only the Shark and the Wavytalk below say they work that way. Everything else here is a hot-air brush: a heated, vented brush that dries and smooths as you pull it through. We left out anything that would not say which kind it was, and we could not confirm a Laifen styler, so there is none on the list.

The best Dyson Airwrap dupes of 2026

  1. Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System
    Best overall dupe, air-wrap curls

    Shark

    1. FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System

The one most often named as the closest alternative. Its auto-wrap curlers use the same Coanda airflow idea, and it also dries and smooths with brushes. Attachment sets differ between listings.

Skip it if you have very fine or damaged hair and want gentle heat. It is a strong dryer, so use a heat protectant.

Best for: Air-wrap curls for lessCheck price on Amazon
  2. Wavytalk Airshape Pro Signature Air Styler Set
    Best newer air-wrap styler

    Wavytalk

    2. Airshape Pro Signature Air Styler Set

Wavytalk says this set pairs Coanda airflow with its own grip design to wrap hair automatically, and it includes curlers, an oval brush and a high-speed dryer. It is new, so there is less buyer history than the Shark.

Skip it if you want a long record of reviews before you spend this much.

Best for: Auto-wrap curlsCheck price on Amazon
  3. Revlon One-Step Volumizer Plus
    Best budget dupe, blowout only

    Revlon

    3. One-Step Volumizer Plus

A hot-air brush, not an air-wrap tool. It dries and smooths in one pass and adds volume and bend at the ends. It will not make tight curls, and it runs hot.

Skip it if your hair is fine or already damaged, or you want real curls.

Best for: Thick, straight to wavy hairCheck price on Amazon
  4. L'ANGE HAIR Le Volume 2-in-1 Titanium Blow Dryer Brush
    Best salon-style blowout

    L'ANGE HAIR

    4. Le Volume 2-in-1 Titanium Blow Dryer Brush

A titanium hot-air brush with an oval barrel and a few heat settings, built for volume and a smooth finish. There is no auto-wrap, so it is for blowouts, not curls.

Skip it if you want curls that form on their own.

Best for: Salon-style blowoutsCheck price on Amazon
  5. Conair InfinitiPRO 2-Inch Frizz Free Round Air Brush
    Best cheap hot-air brush

    Conair

    5. InfinitiPRO 2-Inch Frizz Free Round Air Brush

A 2-inch round hot-air brush with a titanium ceramic barrel that dries and smooths a section at a time. A simple, cheaper way into hot-air styling.

Skip it if you want curls that form on their own. It smooths and adds bend, nothing more.

Best for: Short hair, light stylingCheck price on Amazon
  6. Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long
    The original

    Dyson

    6. Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long

The multi-styler that popularized Coanda airflow, where fast air pulls hair around a barrel to curl it. Sold in sets with barrels, brushes and a dryer, so check what is in the box.

Skip it if you will only style your hair once in a while. The price is hard to justify for occasional use.

Best for: Daily curls and blowoutsCheck price on Amazon

What the dupes can't do

Most of the gap shows up in four places.

Real wrap-around curls. A hot-air brush gives you bend and bounce, not a defined curl. Only the Shark and the Wavytalk try the auto-wrap method.

The full set. The Airwrap sells in sets with a range of barrels, brushes and a dryer. Dupe sets differ by listing, so compare what is actually included.

Build and finish. Reviewers who have used both often say the Dyson feels more refined in the hand. We can't judge that from a spec sheet, so treat it as what buyers say.

Hair type. Cheaper brushes tend to run hotter and give you fewer controls. If your hair is fine, color-treated or already dry, this matters more than the saving.

How to choose a Dyson Airwrap dupe

Start with what you want from the tool. If curls are the goal, narrow the list to the Shark and the Wavytalk. If you only want a smoother, fuller blowout, a hot-air brush is simpler and costs less.

Next, check the barrel size and your hair length. A bigger oval barrel gives more volume and covers more hair at once. A small barrel is better for bangs, short hair and ends.

Look at the heat settings. More than one setting is worth having if your hair is fine or colored. Keep a heat protectant in the routine either way, and our guides to the best hair dryers and hair tools that look expensive cover what to pair with them.

Finally, think about whether you would be just as happy with a standard curling iron. Our best curling irons are cheaper again, and they hold a curl well.

Questions people ask

Is there a real Dyson Airwrap dupe?

There are tools that share its purpose. The Shark FlexStyle is the closest we found, since it uses the same wrap-around airflow idea. Nothing on Amazon is a copy of the Airwrap or made by Dyson.

Is the Shark FlexStyle as good as the Dyson Airwrap?

Reviewers who compare them generally say the curls are close, and most still prefer the Dyson for how refined it feels. If curls are your main use, the Shark is the one to try before you pay for the original.

Can the Revlon One-Step curl your hair?

It can bend and bounce the ends, and it adds volume at the roots. It will not give you tight, defined curls. Think blowout, not curling iron.

Do hot-air brushes damage hair less than a flat iron or curling iron?

Not necessarily. They still use heat, and some run hot. A heat protectant helps, and so does using a lower setting on fine or color-treated hair. If your hair is breaking or thinning, a dermatologist or stylist can tell you why.

If you are happy to skip air-wrap curls, the Revlon or the L'ANGE is the simplest way to a salon-style blowout at home.
